Module 1: The Sustainability Disclosures Requirement (SDR)

Learning objectives

Understand the FCA’s new Sustainability Disclosures Requirements (SDR) and investment labels regime, including why this regime has been created and the timelines for the implementation and future potential policies.

The reader will gain an understanding of the how the label regime is structured including the four labels and their meanings:

  1. Sustainability Focus
  2. Sustainability Improvers
  3. Sustainability Impact
  4. Sustainability Mixed Goals

This module will also enable the reader to understand how the new regime impacts asset managers, distributors and retail clients and the expectations on advisers.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this module, the reader will have the ability to explain why the SDR and investment labels regime has been created against the current ESG investment backdrop. This includes the timeline for current and proposed policies and the impact and expectations of this regime. They will also have an understanding of how the regime has been structured including the four labels and how they are applied to funds.
