For one day only, Vanguard will be taking over Tough Mudder’s London South 5km course. Consisting of a series of muddy obstacles, you’ll need to work as a team to overcome them - whether your colleagues or ours. You can find out more by visiting the Tough Mudder website.

The Vanguard Tough Mudder Takeover is not a race. The event is a personal challenge with the goal of overcoming obstacles and completing the course, with a team. We will however have some unique prizes up for grabs on the day.

The course is 5km, average time to complete is 1–2 hours.

The route itself is 5km but any all-out sprinting (or jogging…or walking…these events aren’t timed, you can go at your own pace) will be broken up by 20 obstacles. But want to raise your running game? Be our guest.

This event is for industry-professionals only, based in the UK - unfortunately, this is not an event for end-clients. Please do feel free to invite your colleagues along though, the more the merrier! If anyone wants to spectate and not participate, you're also very welcome - you will still need to sign up.

Step 1 

Click on "Register now" at the top of this page. Then, using your professional email address, fill in the short form.

Step 2 

Then you’ll receive an email inviting you to complete your registration with Tough Mudder.

Step 3 

Complete the registration form on Tough Mudder, this is where captains can set up teams, and individuals can join a team.

Once you have registered as an individual, you can set up your Tough Mudder team.

Upon completion of your individual registration, you will see a small confirmation box titled 'Prepare for your event'. In this box, click 'View my events'.

Step 2

You will then be taken to a page where you can choose to create or join a team, click 'create team'.

Step 3

Enter a team name, description and click create!

You can then invite others to join your team. Remember though, everyone must complete two steps of the registration and register on Vanguard's site too.

First, appoint a team captain - this person will be able to set up your team on the Tough Mudder site. Then, when you register yourself, you can search the name of the team from the dropdown. There is no limit on the number of people who can join a team.

No! The more the merrier - get all your colleagues signed up. You will all be able to start together on the day too. 

Yes! You can register as an indivual and join Team Vanguard. Our crew will be hand to help you over all the obstacles.

Yes! We welcome supporters and have designated spectator spots dotted around the course. You will still need to register for the event in the usual way.

As this is an event for investment professionals only, we will use your email address to validate your registration.

You can do this via your Tough Mudder account, please also email events.europe@vanguard.co.uk.

Vanguard will be covering participation cost of the event. Should you need to declare this, the cost per head to enter a Tough Mudder in 2024 is £100.

Vanguard will cover your event participation and provide food and drink vouchers on the day. Vanguard will not be responsible for covering costs of travel or kit.

There will be shuttle buses running to and from Three Bridges Train Station before and after the event. First bus to leave the train station will be 9:45am and will follow every ten minutes, until 11:30am. Buses will be ready to leave when the first wave of runners finish the course.

Yes. Please book your parking space when completing your Tough Mudder registration. Parking will be free of charge.

Join us any time from 10am, but please arrive for an 11am start with the first wave of runners setting off shortly after. Once you cross the finish line, grab a drink and lunch on us. All participants will be expected to leave the grounds by 4pm.

There will be no designated wave start times. 'Competers'—those in it to win it—will be invited into the first wave, which is due to set off around 11:15am. Waves of 250 will then follow every 10 minutes until all runners have left the starting pen.

1. A good pair of running shoes (that you’re not too attached to) with good cushioning, traction, and drainage. 


2. Form-fitting, light weight, breathable gear (always check the weather and adjust accordingly).

3. And if you want your peers to know who you are, wear your company colours loud and proud.

Yes, we will accept photographs of your ID upon entry. Please note, all attendees will need to show Government ID on the day to access the site. Photocopies will not be accepted. 

Whilst we hope there will be no major injuries, there will be medics on site to support in all eventualities. Please note that all individuals entering the site, whether participating or spectating, must register and sign an individual waiver. All participants taking part do so at their own risk.
